Daddy/Daughter Dance

My very lucky daughter got to go on a special date with her daddy.  She was so thrilled about it and wanted to get the perfect dress for the occasion.  She tried on three adorable dresses and proclaimed that she wanted them all.  She had to make the tough decision and on her own she decided on the fun black and white polka dot with the hot pink bow.  The night started off with pictures at our house, followed by dinner at Maggiano's and then off to the dance.  Her cousins and best girlfriends from school joined her.  Daddy and Gracie had a wonderful time and will make this a yearly tradition.  Now let's see if I can get my Brady to go to the Mother/Son dance with me in May ;) 

Future NBA All Star

Brady just wrapped up his first basketball season.  He was awesome, he averaged about 30 points per game.  Okay, so I'm exaggerating a bit.  He made a few baskets at a couple of games but atleast half of the team never made a basket all season.  He was an awesome defender and tried hard not to let his man get open. I never thought of myself as a big basketball fan but I have to say, watching these 8 year olds run up and down the court was really fun.  He has declared this his favorite sport of the moment and is looking forward to next season already.  Go Frisco Lakers!

Wheeler Family Farm (aka The Ranch)

Wanna get away? When we answer yes, we hop on 635 and take highway 80 straight into small town East Texas. When my dad decided to buy this place we all wondered "what the heck was he thinking?" Once we drove up the long entrance and saw a pretty one-story white house with green shutters, surrounded by acres of land with deer roaming, we were hooked. It is the perfect place to unwind, take in the fresh air, wet a hook and just "be".

Snow Kidding!

WOW!!! 4 inches of cold, white, greatness fell from the sky this weekend and gave us a new meaning to Sunday Funday. The kids waited patiently as we watched it stick to the ground, fingers crossed that the perfect amount would fall. What a great day! A little sledding, hot chocolate, snowmen building...the kids were in heaven. Thank you Jack Frost!

Holiday Wrap Up

Another holiday season has come and gone. As I walked through the store today, heart shaped candy boxes lined the shelves. I even scored a Cadbury Egg, who knew the bunny made these creamy delights as early as January!

Even though Christmas flew by, we had an amazing time celebrating with the kids and our families.

*watching the kids continue to believe that the Elf on the Shelf, Owen, was really going to tell Santa how they behaved that day

*the Barney Christmas DVD that played in the car everywhere we went and listening to the kids sing the songs from it after we memorized every word

*visiting the famous house of lights

*infamous adult White Elephant party where I scored a snuggie

*watching Gracie decorate the whole tree by herself with only a little help on the hard to reach spots

*annual girls dinner with my high school besties

*raising money with the kids classes and shopping for some less fortunate Frisco families

*yearly cousins cookie/ornament party

*Christmas bunko with the neighbors

*finding the sought after blue haired Lalaloopsie doll for Gracie

*Landry learning to say Santa "tan-ta" then flipping out when he sat on his lap

Even though it went by fast, the memories will last. What a perfect Christmas! Thanks to the man Himself for blessing me as we celebrated His birth.
